Bert Jansch workshops go online – book now

Bert Jansch Foundation presents a series of online guitar workshops led by three expert teachers.
Starting Sunday 24 May: choose your tutor(s) and date and Book Now

Suitable for guitarists of all ages and backgrounds who can fingerpick and read tab or staff notation, each 3-hour workshop costs £30 (£5 discount off each workshop when booking more than one) and will have a maximum of six participants so you will get individual attention and come away playing some of Bert’s iconic songs.

Choose one or more workshop with one of 3 great exponents of Bert Jansch’s music, to take you through the intricacies and secrets of his style – at different levels.

Sunday mornings 11.00am – 2.00pm (24 May, 31 May, 7 June)
Dariush Kanani, Bert Jansch Foundation Young artist, takes those fingerpickers just getting into Bert Jansch through songs including:

  1. Running from Home
  2. Blues Run the Game
  3. Courting Blues

Thursday evenings 6.00pm – 9.00pm (28 May, 4 June, 11 June)
Paul
Wassif, Bert Jansch Foundation Patron and Bert’s colleague, will work with you by ear on pieces he jammed and performed with Bert, such as

  1. Needle of Death
  2. Build Another Band
  3. My Pocket’s Empty

Saturday afternoons 1.00pm – 4.00pm (30 May, 6, June 13 June)
Jon Riley
, head of the Bert Jansch Foundation Bert Transcribed group, will work with those who feel they are at an intermediate with Bert’s material, such as

  1. Strolling Down the Highway
  2. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
  3. In the Bleak Midwinter

The workshops are presented by the Bert Jansch Foundation in association with Bert Jansch Studio at the Cheese and Grain, Frome, Somerset, with support from Young Somerset. (All tutors and titles subject to change).
