Bert Jansch Foundation presents a further series of online guitar workshops led by three expert teachers. Following the success of the two series of online workshops in 2020, Dariush Kanani, Jon Riley and Paul Wassif return with a wider repertoire of Bert’s songs to examine his unique playing style.

Suitable for guitarists of all ages and backgrounds who can fingerpick and read tab or staff notation, each 3-hour workshop costs £50 (£10 discount off each workshop when booking more than one) and will have a maximum of six participants so you will get individual attention and come away playing some of Bert’s iconic songs.
Choose one or more workshop with one of 3 great exponents of Bert Jansch’s music, to take you through the intricacies and secrets of his style – at different levels. (All tutors and titles subject to change).

The workshops are presented by the Bert Jansch Foundation in association with Bert Jansch Studio at the Cheese and Grain, Frome, Somerset, with support from Young Somerset.
The Foundation’s established programme of Bert Transcribed workshops give special insights into Bert’s idiosyncratic style and also his influences. Players of all ages and backgrounds who can fingerpick and read tab or staff notation are welcome. Workshop leaders include Jon Riley, and Thomas Fairhurst, key creators of Bert Transcribed: the Bert Jansch Songbook and Dariush Kanani, Bert Jansch Foundation Young Artist. We hope that in-person workshops can resume soon.

Bert Jansch Guitar Workshops
The first Bert Jansch guitar workshop was held during the 2016 Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, together with two sold-out Bert Inspired concerts. Subsequent workshops have taken place in the UK and abroad, at Cecil Sharp House, London, at the Sage Gateshead, in Truro Cornwall, at Edinburgh Napier, Newcastle, and Goldsmiths Universities, at a Jazz College in France and a Songwriters Club in Denmark. Workshops take place at festivals such as the Green Man Festival in Wales and Frome Festival in Somerset.
